Celebrating 50 Years of Keeping Families Safe

Since 1974, Women In Distress of Broward County (WID) has been committed to providing safety, support, and hope to survivors of domestic violence. Now in its 50th year, WID remains the only state-certified domestic violence center in Broward County, offering a 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter, counseling, advocacy, and education. The organization continues to empower survivors as they build safer, more independent lives.

This year’s Gala will feature keynote speaker Tanya Brown—a nationally recognized speaker, survivor, and advocate for domestic violence awareness—who was thrust into the national spotlight after the tragic death of her sister, Nicole Brown Simpson.
