A Journey Back to 2016: Where It All Began

For TB Media Group (founded in December of 2015), the transformative power of storytelling became clear during our very first project in 2016. We partnered with the City of Sunrise to document an innovative program designed to connect senior citizens and high school students.

On paper, the program was ambitious: senior citizens learning internet basics, from online dating to job searching, while students gained wisdom about resilience and life’s ups and downs from their older counterparts. But it was through storytelling—capturing candid moments of laughter, learning, and connection—that the program’s real magic came to life.

We didn’t just record videos; we crafted narratives that showcased the human element of this initiative. These stories weren’t only heartwarming—they had a tangible impact. When shown to participants and city officials, the videos secured buy-in and sustained funding for the program.

This experience solidified what I now know to be true: storytelling isn’t just creative; it’s strategic. It bridges gaps, aligns goals, and fuels real-world change.
