Women Who Lead is a one-day conference designed to enhance the personal, professional & academic leadership development of students at FIU.

About this Event

Women Who Lead (WWL) is a one-day leadership and career conference designed to enhance the personal, professional, and academic leadership development of students at FIU. We achieve this by engaging students with experiences central to diverse women and gender-expansive people of all types, including faculty, staff, alumni, and professionals of all industries.

I had a blast joining Women’s Center – FIU last week for their annual Women Who Lead Conference. Our panel on Women In Media – Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories was filled with personal stories and nuggets on our approach when it comes to advocating for causes, sharing stories of underrepresented communities, and our take on traditional vs. nontraditional media.

It was amazing to meet the women on the panel as well as FIU students and other change-makers in our community.

When we think about the way the media landscape has changed and this shift towards nontraditional media sources to obtain information – two questions come up:

➡️ What responsibility do you think each of us holds when it comes to sharing information on our platforms?
➡️ What are the trusted sources you go to for news and information?
