Heart Attack Survivor: Why It’s Never Too Late to Start with Nate Wilkins
Fail fast, fix it, and move on. Those are the wise words of Nate Wilkins, co-creator of Ageless Workout and today’s guest of Lift U Up: Inspiring Health Stories. It took an unexpected health scare and weeks in the hospital for Nate to find his calling — aiding aging adults in taking their lives back one healthy habit at a time, just as he had to learn to do for himself.
With a love for the outdoors, Nate Wilkins spent 27 years of his career as a Parks & Recreation Administrator. Working in places all over the country, Nate spent his days coming up with programs for his work, navigating city stress, hopping around to meetings, and ultimately not taking his health seriously.
He reflects, “You think you’re having a good time, but in reality, you’re doing damage to your body.” That damage slowly built up, and one day Nate found himself in the hospital having “mini heart attacks.” After weeks of testing Nate made a promise to himself — if he made it out of the hospital, he was going to change his life.
Luckily, Nate got his second chance. After recovery, Nate became his own healthcare advocate by finding ways to fix his health, through diet, exercise, sleep, and lifestyle adjustments. He started taking exercise classes and eventually started teaching them — all leading up the creation of Ageless Workout. Ageless Workout gives people between the ages of 45-90 the chance to take their life back and live on their own terms.

About the Host
I’m an award-winning journalist who painstakingly walked away from the thing I worked so hard for — my career in local TV news. By accident, I turned my love of telling stories into a full time business. On purpose, I run a video and content marketing agency who tells visual stories for health & happiness brands.
