What is NAD and How Can It Help Heal? with Paula Norris
Since 1979, Paula Norris Mestayer, M.Ed., LPC, FAPA has been passionate about mental health and helping people navigate their mental health conditions. It was not until 20 years ago, when she had a breakthrough with her method that she developed the pioneering work she continues to do today. Paula says her groundbreaking development of American protocols for using NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is effective in treating addiction and other brain disorders. In today’s episode of Lift U Up: Inspiring Health Stories, Paula shares the story of the first time she witnessed success with NAD (through her teenage daughter’s addiction) and how she has helped thousands more, successfully break the rehab and relapse cycle.
When Paula first began a career in education, she realized something: her work in inner city schools was dealing more with emotions than academics. It was that realization that led her to pursue a life as a mental health professional. With her degree in mental health counseling, she devoted her life to those dealing with mental health conditions.
Midway through her career, Paula went through a life-changing experience. When her 16-year-old daughter began experimenting with drugs, it led their family down a path towards addiction treatment options. She was introduced to the concept of NAD treatment, and eventually met with a doctor in Tijuana, Mexico who practiced the treatment. Her daughter had a great response and the family’s eyes were opened to the importance of NAD. As horrible as those dark nights were for her, they were growth opportunities for her to become wiser. NAD saved both of their lives.
As the founder of the Springfield Wellness Center, Paula wanted to use her clinic to bring NAD to America. She and her husband developed the BR+NAD protocol, and together they have administered NAD to more than 1,500 patients. They began with treating victims of addiction, but later saw value from NAD for those with Alzheimer’s, PTSD, and other mental conditions. Today, their protocol and products are being used in nearly 50 clinics across the country.
Their 20th Anniversary is this year, and they are hosting a virtual summit on addiction, NAD, and much more from a variety of speakers. Find out more on this November 20-21 event here!
